Franziska is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher. She is a disciplined and passionate yoga practitioner.

As a teenager she was diagnosed with scoliosis. In order to alleviate the pain she tried repetitive physiotherapeutic gymnastics, swimming and special breathing techniques. Some of the exercises that she had to do were very similar to the yoga exercises she is teaching now. About seven years ago she realised that yoga was not only improving her back pain but also helped her to create an equable frame of mind. This was when she began practicing yoga in earnest.

Iyengar Yoga is rooted in classical yoga tradition. In this style of yoga, Franziska is focusing on technique and alignment in the yoga postures. This gradually creates awareness of the mind and body and brings with it mobility, increased circulation, concentration and reduced stress. In Iyengar Yoga, the poses are made accessible for every student by special props such as straps, blocks and blankets. Franziska teaches a range of strengthening, passive poses as well as restorative ones which will leave the body fresh and balanced.

After experiencing the benefits of yoga firsthand, Franziska would like to help others to overcome their limitations in strength, flexibility and body awareness as well.
